The Newbie Campaign part four

Blog entry

Well it's been too long since I updated the blog on the newbie game.

My apologies for that.

So the  PC's had been working through the ancient temple of the death goddess and they found a way out.

What they did not realize was her ancient minions, three giant snakes that each contained a small part of her essence.

He plan was to get the PC's to kill the snakes so she could reclaim her essence that they had been holding for centuries.

Of course, the PC's obliged. They did not realize what they were doing, but they obliged.

Out of Commission Temporarily

Blog entry

My apologies for no update recently. I was hit with a bout of kidney stones last week and am slowly making an attempt to recover. I hope to be back in the saddle sometime late next week.

The Newbie Campaign part three or Then there shall be hiatus

Blog entry

Well there won't be an update to the campaign notes for almost 3 weeks.

it seems REAL life has interrupted game play for several of the players.

In fact, roughly 1/2 the group.

But I am using the time to work on new things for the game.

Most notably, I have to build a town that is nearest to where they will or should be exiting this current dungeon site.

The town is going to have a wild west kind of field since it's main resource is HORSES.

The Newbie Campaign part two

Blog entry

Well after skipping a week because of family issues and another player being sick, we will, in most probability be back at it for week three of the Newbie Campaign this friday the 13th [cue scary music].

But until then I will give a recap of week 2.

We had two new players show up this week, a magic user and a barbarian. I figured they both survived the ship wreck and they moved down the beach looking for any other survivors and anything they could salvage.

Part Two:

I msut apologize for the delay in putting up a new blog post about the newbie game.

My mom went into the hospital and is finally getting out on monday, the day after Mother's Day.

So this last Friday we skipped a week of the game.

I will post about week 2 soon.

Needless to say that hte push of the Sahaugin from the sea and the pull of what was in the sea cave got the group moving.

And through some very good die rolls and very good questions by the mage, they were able to learn something about the ancient temple.

The Newbie Campaign

Blog entry

Well friday night I started running a good number of role-playing newbs in 1st edition AD&D.

Yes, I said 1st ed. That is what they wanted to play.

I forgot how simple and easy it was to run. So much more just on the fly adjudication.

We spent several hours finishing up characters, discussing alignments and deities.

They bought gear and got proficiencies from the wilderlands survival guide.

We had a nice mix, I think.

1 true veteran rpg'er, CT, he is running a 1/2 elf ranger.

Judges Guild Traveller Goodies!

Blog entry

I recently came across a stash of some of the old Judges Guild Traveller material that I didn't realize I had, so head on over to the store and see what's available! Think of it as a flashback to the late 70s and early 80s, including a roll-back in prices. You pay the price on the cover!

GRiP4 - The Latest...

Blog entry

As noted in my other blog, I've spent most of the last month rebuilding the RPGRealms website into this new fangled site we have now. Personally I'm rather pleased at how it's coming along, but that's not what this blog post is about. You're interested in GRiP. Don't worry, so am I!

Welcome to the New RPGRealms!

Blog entry

I'd like to welcome our new member (and many returning former members) to the NEW RPGRealms website. It's been a long overhaul, but the results (I think) are well worth the effort.
